Mayor Michael Bloomberg announced that New York City will host a ticker-tape parade in honor of the Super Bowl XLVI Champions New York Giants on Tuesday, February 7th, 2012. The parade will begin at Battery Place and Washington Street at 11:00 AM and continue northbound up the Canyon of Heroes to Worth Street. The FDNY Pipes and Drums is proud to be participating in the Annual Mardi Gras celebration in New Orleans. We will be leading the New Orleans FD group in the Rex Parade. The FDNY has a great relationship with NOFD after we sent many Firefighters down to assist in the aftermath of hurricane Katrina in 2005. Here is a link to the parade we will be participating in.

We will be playing at 8pm along with bands from Seattle, Boston, California and many other FD's. This should be a great event and we are definitely looking forward to it. This is in celebration of our 50th Anniversary which is coming up at the end of this year. It is also the Mets 50th Season.
