The FDNY Pipes and Drums will be playing at the game to support the FDNY Baseball team! The game will be held at the MCU ball park (formerly Keyspan Park) in Coney Island! Some members of the FDNY Pipe Band will join the DCFD Emerald Society Pipes and Drums as they help support the Tour of Duty runners. The Tour of Duty runners are from Australia, FDNY, Port Authority and a few other Fire Departments. They are running across the country in honor of 9/11. The run started at the Santa Monica Pier and will be ending at the World Trade Center site on 9/11.

The FDNY Pipes and Drums is proud to be leading the 9/11 families,Tour of Duty runners, Chief Kilduff, Commissioner Cassano, Congressman Peter King, the Australian Prime Minister, and countless others across the bridge down to the foot of the site. The runners started their journey from the Santa Monica Pier in CA on August 12th and will be concluding their run at the WTC site on September 11th. An FDNY Piper will play at a wreath laying ceremony at the Fire Museum. This will take place in the 9/11 Tribute Room on the first floor. The Museum is located at 278 Spring Street, NYC and is open to the public. For more info on the museum click here
As tradition has it the FDNY Pipes and Drums will have their wreath laying ceremony on the side of 10 and 10 where the massive plaque is located that lists all the Firefighters who were killed. The Band lost two of its members on September 11th, Band Chaplain Father Mychal Judge and Drummer Durrell "Bronko" Pearsall. Every year the band goes to this sacred ground at dusk and holds our own wreath laying ceremony. The wreath is laid by the senior members of the pipe band as the whole band plays on. Feel free to join us as we play to remember our own and every other innocent life that was lost.
Coming off of a successful run at the Hunter Mountain Pipe Band Championships in August the Grade 4 and 5 bands of the FDNY Pipes and Drums will be playing at the Nassau Irish Feis which is held at Molloy College in Rockville Centre, NY. For more info on the Feis please visit their page.

The FDNY will be playing at the 9th Tunnel to Towers run which starts in Brooklyn and ends in Manhattan. Stephen Siller was a Fireman in Squad 1 and was killed on September 11th after running through the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel to get to the WTC. For more info on the race click here for their web site.
The FDNY Pipes and Drums will be playing at a Plaque Dedication for FF Kevin Delano Sr of Ladder Company 142. Kevin was retired and passed away from a WTC related Illness. The Firehouse is located at 103-17 98th Street Queens, NY

The FDNY Pipes and Drums will be playing at a funeral for retired BC Bob Love on Wednesday the 15th of December at 10am.
He was a F.D.N.Y. firefighter for over 32 years, receiving numerous citations for bravery. It is said at one point in his career, he was the most decorated firefighter in the City of New York. He retired as Battalion Chief in 1993.
The Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, December 15, at 10 a.m., at St. Mary's R.C. Church in Washingtonville. Internment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery.
