The FDNY Pipes and Drums will be playing at the New York Police and Fire Women's And Children's Benefit Fund
Since the Benefit Fund's inception in 1985 by Daniel J. "Rusty" Staub, the Benefit Fund has distributed over $114 million to the families of New York City police and fire personnel who have been killed in the line of duty. Though the Benefit Fund was initially created to assist families of New York City Fire Fighters and Police Officers, we now include the families of Emergency Medical Services and Port Authority Officers as well. In 1987 we provided 320 families with annual financial assistance and by 2008, we made the same commitment to nearly 700 families. Our need has certainly grown, but our mission remains pure: help children and spouses who lost a loved one in the line of duty, charged with the task of keeping our families safe. | ||

Scott found out he had Leukemia when he went for his 5th Grade Medical at the Medical Office. He has not be responding to treatment. Paul recently had a mass removed from his brain after surgery.

Through the Metro Cup Piping Championships, Eric Stein who runs the event has been able to send us for the evening Ryan Canning. Ryan is a long time member of the multiple time World Champion Field Marshal Montgomery Pipe Band. Ryan is also a very successful solo player and composer in Scoland and is very often in the prizes. Ryan is also a successful reed maker which is his full time job, he runs and owns Canning reedmakers. The FDNY Pipes and Drums is very much looking forward to working with Ryan for the evening. | ||
